On exposed Redcar and Hartlepool plots, closeboard on concrete posts is the honest recommendation.
Boundary realities
Whose fence is it? On Teesside's estates the answer is usually in the deeds and often shared, and neighbours sharing a boundary sharing the cost is common and worth asking about. Fence height rules (2m at the rear without planning, 1m at the front) are flagged at survey where they bite.
